[solved]How to create subdomain with sub server?

I created subserver and set external IP to the other IP on my VPS. I can't access the page when I type the subdomain in Firefox. It says page not found. Is it because my DNS are in my registrar? I tried adding a subdomain there but I can only forward it to another address. Thats in godaddy. Any help?

edit: I fixed the problem. Locutus thanks for your time

If you don't operate the nameserver (BIND) on Virtualmin yourself, you need to add A (address) records for all (sub-)domains you wish to host at Godaddy, pointing it to the IP address of your VPS. Forwarding it to another address (if you mean hostname) won't help there.

If Godaddy does not offer that feature of creating subdomains and freely pointing them to an IP, you'll need to use another registrar that does offer it, or which offers zone delegation to your Virtualmin server (i.e. allows you to configure NS entries at the NIC) so you can host the zone in BIND yourself.

I got it working but now I have another problem. I added the A record in Godaddy and now when I type the subdomain i see the index. However when I upload something in the /home/mydomain/domains/sub1.mydomain.com/public_html dir, I dont see it in the browser. What could be the reason ?

Need more info... what "index" do you see, and what does "don't see it in the browser" mean?

when I type the subdomain I see

Index of / [ICO] Name Last modified Size Description Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at sub1.mydomain.info Port 80

I uploaded a picture and index.html tru the file manager in webmin but I can't see them when I enter the address in the browser or when I type sub1.mydomain.com/picture.jpg - I get error 404. I tried changing the permissions on those files to allow all but still nothing.

The strange thing is on my original domain I have Interspire and Im using it, but when I enter the domain itself in the browser I get error 404. I can however access www.mydomain.com/interspire/admin Im confused..

I think I found the problem. For some reason the IPs for the main and the sub server were the same. I changed it and now its ok
