Hi,
I have a xen box with two Centos VMs. I want to move a production site from one VM to the other, both with Virtualmin Pro. I have done a domain backup of all features on the old machine, then ftpd the resulting tarball and info file to the virtualmin-backup folder on the empty placeholder domain with the correct name on the destination machine and then done a restore. All of this was done with ordinary site owner privileges, not as root.
The restore works for the cms, content, but completely misses the pop mail accounts and mailman lists. In principle I can recreate the lists, move the archives over by hand and carry on, it's not too terribly big a job. But I'd like to not have to do this for all the twenty sites I want to move.
Does anyone see why this scheme wouldn't work?
Dave
Any indication of failures during restore in the logs? Are the mail accounts correctly included in the backup? Does the restore mention that it processes mail accounts?
What if you try it as root user without pre-creating the domain, as in let the restore process do all necessary creation?
