Is it easy to snapshot the AMI so it can be restored completely in the event of a serious problem? If a really nasty problem occurred I would like to be able to shrug and bring up the previous night's AMI snapshot and point the elastic IP at it.
Everything should then work (with the caveat that some sites would need their higher frequency backups restored).
Would this avoid the need for an EBS?
