Subdomains stopped resolving!

Subdomains stopped resolving!

Hi,

I use a subdomain called cdn.mydomain.com to host custom files and it has been resolving fine when I first set it up. Now (after around a week), I check on my website and I see that my custom files are not loading up. I enter cdn.mydomain.com in my address to find out that its not resolving! What's the problem? It has been resolving fine and suddenly it just stops? I don't understand.

Hi Josh,

Well, that's certainly odd :-)

The nameservers haven't by chance changed, have they? If you check the nameservers for your domain at your registrar, are they set the way you'd expect?

Also, if you go to intodns.com, and put in your domain name, does it's DNS test show anything odd?

Hi,

It seems that it's a problem with my internet connection. I changed my DNS to OpenDNS and the sub domain seems to resolves fine. Then I reverted back to my DNS provided by my ISP and the sub domain doesn't resolve!

Any idea why?

per haps your ISP has some problems? Did you check with them?

It is a problem with my ISP because I have tried other free DNS services and they all seem to be able to locate the subdomain.
