Hello,
I just wondered, why webmin verion 1.517 is now available as update via the virtualmin packages while stable version (taken from www.webmin.com) seems to be still 1.510.
The version seems to be the development version. Was the release of this version a mistake?
Same thing for usermin 1.440-2.
Is it save to install the newer versions?
Best regards Christian
Hrm, I'm not seeing anything that suggests a 1.517 is available :-)
I only see 1.510 on the software repo, and that's what I have on my own system.
What distro are you using? And how did you go about installing Virtualmin?

Hmm, it seems I mistakenly logged in with my old companies users. I do not have the login data at the moment, therefore I use my new login to answer this:
I have a Debian installation and this is in the sources.list:
deb http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/debian/ virtualmin-lenny main deb http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/debian/ virtualmin-universal main
And as the Installation Source shown in virtualmin frontend is shown as "virtualmin" my guess is, that the new version is coming from there.
Sorry, I had not be clear on this issue...
Best regards Christian
Howdy,
Okay, I see, that version is only available for Debian... I suspect it was released to solve a Debian related bug. Perhaps that BIND bug that came up last week.
Generally, if something shows up in the Virtualmin repo, it's for a good reason, as it's a lot of work to get stuff in there :-)

Change log in the news sections would be nice... thanks
