We are looking into transferring from a Plesk 8.6 server and have done a test with a single domain which worked great from the backup file.
Since then I have tried to import from a backup file with multiple domains in it and virtualmin says ".. validation failed : Could not work out domain name from backup". Is it possible to do multiple domains in one file? It will take a very long time otherwise as we have 105 domains on the old server to be migrated.
Thanks
Jon
Hi Jon,
You don't need to point the migration tool at a specific file, you can also put it into a dir.
Is it simple to generate a Plesk backup where you have a single file for each domain?
If so, you could do that, put all the files into one dir -- then when you go into Add Servers -> Migrate Virtual Server, you can point "Local file or directory" at the directory containing all of your Plesk backups.

Thanks for the quick response Eric.
Yes I did see whist searching the forum that you can point it to the folder. Unfortunately all of my backups are done at the client level rather that per domain.
I have taken a look at the command line api to try and do it from there but can find documentation on migration.
Thanks
Jon
