Database Error: Unable to connect to the database

I've installed several applications in sub directories of the TLD but none of them are working....

I keep getting simular errors on all of them like Joomla.....

Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

but the "under Contruction page comes up ok, and the front ends for Horde, etc come up but will not allow log in.

Any Idea's would be apprecaited, I've been checking everywhere with out luck.

Do you have the PHP MySQL module installed?

It's a package named php-mysql, or perhaps php5-mysql, depending on what distribution you're using.

Actually, at first it wouldn't allow me to install phpmyadmin because it only had version 5.1.6 so I upgraded to php-mysql 5.2.10-1.el5.centos and was able to install fine.

The issue occurred both before and after the upgrade.

Ah, yes, the more recent versions of phpMyAdmin do require a version of PHP that's more recent than what you can get by default with CentOS.

Now that you upgraded to PHP 5.2.x, are you able successfully log into phpMyAdmin?

I wish I could say yes, but sadly no....I get this...

phpMyAdmin - Error Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly.

The apache log shows the last 20 errors...
