I am running Ubuntu 9.10 and for some reason my Virtualmin/Webmin install will not load on startup. I have to manually go in and start webmin. Then I go to Bootup and Shutdown and try to tell it to start on bootup. But it doesnt seem to "save" that configuration change.
Any ideas?
Howdy,
During your server's bootup, and also when you try to add Webmin to the startup -- are you seeing any errors in the Webmin error log? That's in /var/webmin/miniserv.error.

Thanks for the response Eric,
No I do not see any errors.
This is the tail of miniserv.log after I try and tell webmin and usermin to load at boot:

Okay, so just to be clear -- what you did is go into Bootup and Shutdown, check the box next to "Webmin", and at the bottom of the screen where all the buttons are, you clicked "Start on Boot".
After you do that -- does it still say "No" in the "At Boot?" column?
-Eric
Yep. Yes to everything you just said.
Okay, then that sounds like a good 'ol fashioned bug :-)
My suggestion would be to file a bug report, using the Support link above.
Then, Jamie can work with you to figure out what's going awry there.
-Eric
hah, ok sounds good. Thanks!
