GIT Repo Module

I posted in a different forum but will repeat here as it seems a more appropriate place. I was wondering if it might be possible to create a module for GIT like there is for SVN. Just about all of my clients are now using GIT as well as myself and this would make things much easier for them to set up (instead of me manually setting up because I dont allow customers access to shell).
