why all outgoing email going in the recipient's spam folder

I have installed webmin/virtualmin on my vps, but facing a serious problem that all the email that send to anyone are not going to the inbox but the email goes in the spam folder, what can I do. the virtualmin version is not pro its normal free version. Can the Virtualmin team help me in this regards, otherwise I will check other hosting panel. because I have been testing from last 3 weeks, everything is fine except this recipients spam problem. Hoping a favorable response. Regards, Faisal

Create a dmarc record, also make sure it is created automatically for the future virutal servers.

mxtoolbox.com is your best friend when setting up your mail server!

Hope this helped.

Thanks, I have found that my webmin/virtualmin auto creates spm and dkim but reverse ptr & dmarc are not created, even I manually add dmarc and ptr but the result is same, can u tell me the setting, how can virtualmin auto creates dmarc & ptr entries. Even dns server is installed in my webmin/virtualmin server and I have already set the nameservers during the installation.

For ipv4 and ipv6 have correct reverse ip is ptr...

and lot of more things to old encryption, securit,y protocols, settings, config, and more

Default as serverAdmin you have a lot todo after installation of Vmin box with mail to have al those done right. as it should nowadays.

Short payed account to test i advise to have more complete overview https://www.unlocktheinbox.com/

Pro report only 2 dollar Mail Tester Pro Reports Only

I advice some here do that test if only once to have very very much things clear. Free test give a kind of score but less information if free tests give errors / warnings you can check afterwards to do a paid one

Virtualmin docs explains how to setup email server and mail accounts. Read these and you will get it sorted.

No matter what panel you use, you have to learn to configure this manually...that's the whole idea of having your own server. When you were using shared hosting this was all done for you by the hosting providers own server administrators.

With a vps or dedicated server, now you are the server admin and have to do it yourself.

If you use a different control panel you will just end up in exactly the same place all over again.

To stop email going to spam

  1. Reverse ptr at server/vps service provider network
  2. spf entry at registrar dns
  3. _DMARC at registrar dns
  4. Dkim at registrar dns

Without the above for your server and each/all domains on it, emails sent using your mail server will always go to spam on at least some recipient mail servers

Client virtual servers (domains on your server) must use the right outgoing mail server and also have the correct dns records for their own domain dns in order for their emails to be received via recipient inboxes and not spam (or rejected completely).

As mentioned previously you can use mxtoolbox to help create spf and _DMARC records that you can input into dns (search Google for mxtoolbox spf, and mxtoolbox _dmarc)

Also, virtualmin will auto generate these records if you are using Bind DNS and have 2 other virtualmin name servers setup and are directing all your clients domains to use your name servers. If not, then some manual work is required for email dns records at every clients own domain registrar (or dns provider).

To stop email going to spam UH spf entry at registrar dns _DMARC at registrar dns Dkim at registrar dns

that al depends if you're runing own nameserver services ( not using those from you registrar) and own or somewhere else dns services then not at registrar dns.

The reverse ip's yup you'r right at server/vps service provider network for both ipv4 and ipv6 while gmail looks at the ipv6 one

DNSSEC depends mostly at REGISTRAR you have to do some.

remember, you must actually check the _dmarc, spf, and dkim records are correct using for example mxtoolbox. Its all good and well to add those records into dns, but if you make even the slightest error in these entries your emails will go to spam.

@adamjedgar

Do those test i adviced from above while these are going not so good to.

https://en.internet.nl/mail/ajecreative.com.au/256122/ example only two short.

Mail server (MX) First found insecure cipher suite
mail.ajecreative.com.au. ADH-AES256-GCM-SHA384
  Verdict:
The domain name of at least one of your mail servers does not match the domain name on the mail server certificate. Technical details:
Mail server (MX) mail.ajecreative.com.au.  Unmatched domains on certificate
billing.ajecreative.com.au and ... ['billing.ajecreative.com.au']

https://en.internet.nl/site/ajecreative.com.au/593542/

these hidden test a B sorry https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=mail.ajecreative.com.au&h...

This server does not support Forward Secrecy with the reference browsers. Grade capped to B Even with A or A+ at SSLLABS a lot of have wrong order in prefered cipher suite some weak first and so on , but nobody reed the real results themselves hihi. :(

You have wrong order for ciphersuites to!

I did post more then once you have to take care of lot of newer things for tls and such https://cipherli.st/ could help while Remy is a nice guy.

ok, Now I understand, actually problem is at my dns settings, but in cpanel the panel did itself all these settings, and I only set nameserver and a records and rest Cpanel did it. anyhow, i have new installed webmin/virtualmin and configserver firewall also installed, at this time no hosting (virtual server) account is added, and configserver firewall sends email at root@panel.mydomain.com and I configured configserver with my gmail account, this alert notification also came in my gmail spam folder, at that time no hosting / virtual account is configured. I think you understand my problem. what can I do with my dns setting of my webmin/virtualmin vps. all the email received from root@panel.mydomain.com is going to my gmail spam folder. and I received email from noreply-dmarc-support@google.com, how to setup my root@panel.mydomain.com email or where I can set my spf, skim, dmarc etc. Hoping a favorable response. Thanks for your help.

Can't help we don't use dns part in virtualmin. Succes.

Try to read and find manuals and docu, if you think / find out some are (to) old or missing then you can ask support or so , hoping to have them fixed or extended.

Try also reading forumrules / guidelines, and getting the support for products here in forum *for example, versions?)
