Problems with Authentic Theme after Update

Hi,

We have an older Ubuntu 14.04 server that we are migrating from, and a newer Ubuntu 16.04 server we are migrating to. The newer server does not display the same problems...only the older one.

See here for background: https://www.virtualmin.com/node/59502

I had to force the install of Authentic Theme 19.19. The server was running fine with Authentic Theme 19.20-beta5 (IIRC), then I updated the system and things 'broke' (though the newer server is happy).

1) I'd like to be able to update the Authentic Theme to the latest and keep updating it via the package manager.

2) I have a problem that I need a resolution for:

If I reboot the server, users can no longer access Usermin (webmail.theirdomain.tld). They just get a blank (white) browser window after logging in.

To get past that, the administrator (me) can log into Virtualmin, browse to the affected user account and "Login to Usermin" to view the user's e-mail (successfully). Once this has been done, ALL users on the server can then login and use webmail (Usermin, port 20000).

We figured this out after yesterday's Virtualmin package update and reboot (webmin-virtual-server 6.05).

Any suggestions for me?

Thank in advance,

G

Hi,

I have replied on the mentioned thread above.

Besides, there were (in the past for sure) various cache issues, that I experienced myself, where Usermin deliberately used Webmin theme is some cases. To avoid all possible incompatibly problems, please make sure to update to the latest Usermin 1.750 to have smoothes experience.

Upcoming Authentic Theme 19.22, will also address few minor Usermin issues.

Hi Ilia,

Thanks for getting back to me.

We use the Virtualmin repos for package updates and Usermin 1.741 is the latest available.

For support reasons we don't generally install anything outside of the official repos.

Am I missing something? Are you saying I need to install a package from another repo?

Thanks,

G

p.s. 19.19 is also broken and is the subject of this issue.

p.p.s. I am fairly certain this is not a cache issue. I cleared all caches many times troubleshooting this.

New Usermin 1.751 has been just built and should be pushed to the repos shortly.

It's out to the repos, simply run apt update && apt upgrade and all should be sorted out now.

Good morning Ilia,

At first testing, this issue does indeed appear to be resolved with Authentic Theme 19.19 and with 19.21.

Evidently, it was not a theme problem at all. Sorry if I implied it was.

Thank you very much for your speedy and accurate support.
