Is this a fork of owncloud, or a completely new app?
Submitted by singhdd on Sun, 10/02/2016 - 00:50 Comment #2
Its the fork of owncloud's old code. The next cloud company has been started by founder developer of owncloud after leaving it. Their install process is exactly similar. They have added new features.
The best part is there is no feature difference in opensource and paid version.
Check about it here : https://nextcloud.com/install/#

Thanks - turns out it was really easy to add an installer for nextcloud, so look for this in the next Virtualmin release.

Thanks a lot. Your support is the biggest reason, I dont move to WHM+cPanel, cPanel guys dont listen to your feature requests at all.

Do we have the new version already???? I'm crazy to install nextcloud :-)

Because we release script installers independently of the main Virtualmin package, your system should already pick up the nextcloud installer automatically.
Is there a file for it in
/etc/webmin/virtual-server/latest-scripts

Try going to System Settings -> Script Installers -> Installer Updates, enable automatic download of updates, and click Save.

@Jamie It was already on for automatic updates. I tried saving the form as it is, also tried changing to no, then save and then back to yes and save. But none of this brought next cloud script

Me too, no nextcloud script :-(

Hmm, maybe the script installer update feature doesn't include new scripts.
Anyway, wait a few more days and we'll have a release out with this installer.

It's now almost two years later and I still don't see it. Virtualmin version 6.03

Are you using Virtualmin Pro there?
Most of our Install Scripts, including NextCloud, are only available in the Pro version of Virtualmin.

OK thanks. That's the problem. I'm running the GPL version. Is the script available somewhere else?

The options would be to install NextCloud manually, or upgrade to Virtualmin Pro :-)

I tried, but there are some apache directives that don't translate well to the virtual environment.
Thanks, Jim

It's definitely be possible to get NextCloud working in a domain within Virtualmin.
If you're having troubles getting that to work, feel free to start a Forum thread regarding that, and let us know what issue you're running into. We monitor the Forums, along with lots of wonderful folks in the community!

Good thought. I'll give it another try.
