Hi,
The "Download from server" in "Webmin/Other/Upload and Download" don't work after the latest Authentic update! It downloads the fetch.cgi instead of the things you have selected!
I really need this to work urgently!
And this is a Authentic issue because it works in Virtualmin Framed Theme!
I think thinks has to be checked more before releasing updates, since moving to Authentic Theme I soon spend as much time with bugs, strange behaviors and filing and checking issues. I know there sometimes can be bugs and issues when releasing updates, but if feels like there are getting more bugs and more bugs in every update in Authentic. I think this is really sad because I do like the Authentic theme and I know Ilia is working hard on the theme and doing a fantastic job, but nevertheless my work gets interrupted all the time, and also takes much more time due to this. Even if Authentic theme is much more fresh and up to date it still takes more of my time to get my work done, and that is ok, but when there are "small bugs" and "issues" all the time it starts to take up to much of my time.
Virtualmin/Webmin is a important tool in our business and over the 13 years we have used the Pro version there has been just a few issues.
I have moved back to Virtualmin Framed Theme for now, because I use the "Download from server" a lot. And also, in Java File Manager you can download folders as a zip-file directly in JFM.
Regards, Leffe

Do you mean the suggested filename is
fetch.cgi
, or it actually downloads the contents offetch.cgi

It downloads the contents of fetch.cgi, not what I have selected!
Folders as a zip the upcoming feature in File Manager. Will be the first feature in the future to add.
This is funny that Upload and Download module doesn't work for you. I checked this one particulary quite a bit.
I will double check! Thanks.

Dropped needed part of work-around code.
Thanks a lot. Keep reporting please.
Okay, I have done more real-life testing and this feature (refresh on going back to File Manager) is really annoying!
It will be dropped with next commit. It will only be triggered when going back from inbuilt command shell.
By the way, it was fairly easy to make downloads work for folders/multiple objects, so this is also coming on the next commit and into 19.14 tomorrow. ;)
Okay, please force update the theme to see new directory/multiple files download feature in action.
It will work the same way, from context menu. You will not see an icon in the table column though.
Tell me if it works alright with you. Tomorrow morning, I will push it to 19.14.
In case you have Notifications enabled in module's config, you will see nice messages about archiving files.
The archiving process can be aborted by clicking X button inside of tooltip.

Hi Ilia,
Looks like the download from File Manager is working fine!
Is it possible to get a selection on the archive type, since I'm using Windows on my desktop and laptop I really would prefer to get a zip archive, in JFM you can choose between zip, tar.gz and tar directly after clicking download(Save). I don't mean that it has to be like that but maybe a option to select default archive type.
Regards, Leffe
Actually, last night, I already made it work automatically with zip, when it's installed and fall to tar if zip is not available.
The problem was that using transname sub didn't delete the file like it supposed to. Zip, when creating archive creates tmp name different from the initial file name. In case the download is cancelled, the orphaned file is left in tmp dir. I didn't like it.
Maybe I'll figure things out this morning, of how to clean canceled zip files.
Fixed zip is used by default and falls back to tar in case not installed.
Window size after normalization also fixed.
Install 19.14.
