I want to know if i can add another ip and nameserver to the existing box? if so, how

I have a box already running virtualmin pro with ns1.bislinks.com.

i want to add ns1.ahostz.com to the same machine with additional ip. the second ip is configured on another ethernet connection through usb on the same box.

I tried, but bind stopped working and i had to reboot the system to get it ok.

but i noticed eth2 Ethernet From DHCP Automatic Yes after boot which i did not create.

i dont understand this.

appreciate any help.

ns1.bislinks.com is on eth0 i want add ns1.ahostz.com on eth1.

Hmm, I'm not sure why BIND would stop working in that situation... what all you had done to try and add the new domain with that IP prior to BIND no longer working?

Also, what wasn't working specifically... were you seeing any errors?

In theory, if you want to add a new domain to the server where an IP already exists, that should be no problem -- you'd just add the Virtual Server, and in the "Advanced Options" in "Create Virtual Server", you'd go into "Network interface", and set the "Virtual IP" you'd like to add.

Then, just make sure you click "Already Active".

bind was working fine when i tried to add the new name server "ns1.ahostz.com with ip 24.121.62.20" to the existing virtual server ahostz.com.

it stopped after i did the above. Then I rebooted the machine. After reboot, i found eth2 which i did not create.

bind is working after reboot.but still i could not access www.ahostz.com or 24.121.62.20 ( the dns for which is hosted by godaddy (which i set up months ago) ).
