After the last updates the File Manager (Edit function) throws an error about the tmp file; the file is actually saved however the error is large and gives the impression that the save did not take place .
failed to open /tmp/.webmin BLh blah blah
Please advise on ETA for fix

here is an example
I seem to be able to reproduce this a couple of my environments 6.02 Pro
What theme version do you have installed?

19.07
The latest version is 19.08.
I don't think it's the case though.
Does it happen in Usermin or in virtual server owner login?
Can you provide more information so I could reproduce it? Does it happen in Gray Theme/Virtualmin Framed Theme as well?
The error message looks strange to me.
Okay, update to the latest theme version using theme configuration and Force Update feature. Let's see If it happens then.
What is Webmin version that you have installed on that server?

6.02 Pro Auth 19.07
Rebooted incase there was something odd cached, still got the error.
Forced install of 19.08 and the error is gone.
Must have been something in 19.07?
Yes, very likely.
I do tons of unreported changes. Otherwise it will take forever to describe them all.
Could you double check, that it's gone?

I have multiple environments 6.02 GPL Auth 19.07 error happens forced to 19.08 Error is gone So I think it is safe to assume something odd in the 19.07 build
On a side note theme updates...is it safe to assume if I ignore a brand new theme update (like 19.08) that it will eventually auto update with my virtualmin update schedule?
Yes, it's safe to ignore. The theme update is part of Webmin package.
However, update rate with Webmin is slower.

That was my assumption.
Thanks for your quick response and the work :)
Thank you very much for reporting and helping to build the better products.
