(Solved) Need to send mail only not to receive.

Hi Team,

Im newbie for webserver. I installed virtualmin and able to create virtual server. i just need to configure to send out email only and not for receive.

one of the website have contact us page which need to send email from there. How can i configure for this? Currently im trying to send email from contact us page but its unable to deliver the email.

Can anyone guide me on this?

Howdy,

You should actually be able to do that without any additional configuration on the server (though the mail sending app itself may need to be configured).

In fact, what we'd recommend is not to enable the "Mail for Domain" feature, leave that unchecked.

If the email isn't going out, what you'd want to do is review the email logs in /var/log/maillog or /var/log/mail.log, and see if that yields any clues as to the issue you're seeing.

Thanks for the reply. Im getting below error. how can i fix that? I do not want to use mail server. Just wanted some website send out email from contact us page. How can i configure it as for my requirement? Kindly assist me.

Manage to solve the issue after configuring external mailbox address in below mention location able to send email. Webmin -> Servers -> Postfix Mail Server -> General Options -> Send outgoing mail via host.
