I've been digging around on the forums, and have not yet found quite the correct answer to this one.
I believe that everything is correctly set up in Virtualmin; however, when I run the Virtualmin install script for phpmyadmin 4.4.15.10, it fails.
The error returned is:
Failed to extract source : Failed to create target directory : mkdir: cannot create directory `/home/myvirtualserver/public_html/phpmyadmin': Permission denied
Any thoughts?
Also, would cause any major (or minor) conflicts to simply install this into the usual /usr/share/phpmyadmin/, and create a directory alias? I think this is standard practice, but it appears that Virtualmin is trying to do something else.
I'm just posting a follow-up note here. I never did discover what was going on with this installer. Instead, I went with Adminer, as some others in this forum have suggested. Good little program. It might just replace phpMyAdmin in my tool box. I love its portability.
As far as I know, Adminer does not have the tools to change mySQL's permanent user settings (i.e. "STRICT_TRANS_TABLE"), but for that, there is Webmin. Right?
Did you check files and folders permission in /home/virtualserver/? They should match the virtual server owner.
