Hi,
I have a client with two domains. Everything is working fine.
One of the domains is the 'parent', the other is an 'alias' virtual server. (same mailboxes, same web site)
There are several e-mail mailboxes associated with the parent domain.
The parent VS domain name is 'going away' (the domain name registration has expired and the client doesn't want it any longer).
The alias domain name will become the only virtual server.
What is the easiest way for me to:
1) Make the alias a standalone virtual server, maintaining the same web site and e-mail mailboxes it currently has as an alias virtual server.
2) Get rid of the old parent domain, since the domain name registration has lapsed.
Thanks much,
G

Hello!
I would recommend deleting the alias domain and then changing your old parent domain from
Server Configuration -> Change Domain Name
to your new parent domain.Mos

Yeah, that seems like the best option.

The good news is that seems to have worked and was quite easy.
The down side may be that the directory structure remains the same. The virtual server is still contained in the old /home/olddomain folder.
I can live with it.
Thanks,
G

You can also change the directory on the Change Domain Name page. However, it isn't recommended as this can break installed PHP scripts that have the directory in their config files.
