Thank you very much for this awesome feature!
I found that it's not possible to update virtualmin's server template to use PHP-FPM as the default PHP mode without having Suexec enabled. It says:
Failed to save server template : PHP scripts cannot be run as the domain owner unless suexec is enabled
I think php-fpm doesnt need suexec, right?

You're right - we'll fix this in the next release. Until then you can just enable suexec support, even though it will never be used.
