I have an Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS server with Webmin 1.820 and Authentic Theme 18.10. There is an upgrade for the theme to version 18.31. When I click the update button, it reloads the Webmin dashboard and does not update the theme. I have gone into the Options and cleared the cache and attempted to force an update, but it didn't work. How can I figure out what is preventing me from updating?
I encountered the same problem this morning. I eventually clicked the Download link on the Authentic theme line and got a 404 error. The Download link, and I suspect the underlying Update process was looking for Authentic 1.30 not 1.31. From there it is easy to get the udpate. Click on the Options button on the Authentic line (or on the settings/gears icon at the bottom of the left side navigation area). When the Webmin themes page is displayed select "Install theme" on the top tabs, select the radio button next to "From ftp or http URL" and paste this URL into the input field:
https://github.com/qooob/authentic-theme/releases/download/18.31/authent...
and then click the "Install Theme" button. In my case this takes less than a minute and when it is complete press the F5 key (or otherwise reload the page) and the new version of the theme is there and working. I have updated 3-4 systems this way today and so far no issues.
Hope it works for you just as easily.
That worked perfectly for three machines today, two of which I didn't know had this problem until after I read your post. Thank you very much!
Glad it worked for you!
It looks to me like the new install does not have automatic check for Authentic updates enabled by default (at least on my servers) so I enabled the check in the settings/options area.
I have the same issue. I'm lazy, so I'll wait for a further update beyond .31 ;)
