SSL Certificates on MAIN HOST & VIRTUAL SERVERS USING NGINX - What's the Proper way?

I have 4 SSL Certificates awaiting use at SSLDragon.com

When I go to Configure SSL, it gives me a list of options. The options are as follows for "Website Options":

  • AOL
  • Apache+ModSSL
  • Apache+SSL (Ben-SSL, Not Stronghold)
  • C2NetStrong
  • Cobalt Raq
  • Covalent Server Software
  • CPANEL / WHM
  • Ensim
  • H-Sphere
  • IBM HTTP Server
  • IBM Internet Connection Server
  • iPlanet
  • Java Web Server
  • Lotus Domino
  • Microsoft IIS 1.x - 4.x
  • Microsoft IIS 5.x - Later
  • Netscape Enterprise Server
  • Netscape Fasttrack
  • Novell Web Server
  • Oracle
  • Plesk
  • Quid Pro Quo
  • R3 SSL Server
  • Raven SSL
  • RedHat Linux
  • SAP Web Application Server
  • Tomcat
  • Website Professional
  • WebStar 4.x and later
  • WebTen (from Tenon)
  • Zeus Web Server

1) I'm guessing I need to choose "RedHat Linux" ... However I just wanted to verify before generating. Is this the correct choice?

2) For my MAIN Host, how do I manage and install the SSL certificates on that? Do I do this via the /etc/nginx/nginx.conf file?

3) For my Virtual Servers, when I created them, I received an SSL error when creating them even using the SSL checked option in NGINX. However, they still created and I can use them. Is this as simple as using a NGINX block? If so, what's the correct usage. Is there an example I could use as reference? Or is this something I can achieve using Virtualmin Pro using a Menu Item - Such as - "Server Configuration - Manage SSL Certificate" ?

Thanks ahead of time!

So close... :P

I chose "RedHat Linux"

Generated, and Updated using the Virtualmin Pro Module for Manage SSL Certificates, installed it and it works.

I still don't know how to install a SSL for the "Main Host"

How is this accomplished?

What do you mean by "main host" exactly?

When you install the operating system (CentOS) you setup a host. I used "maximumlove.us" when I login to virtualmin. I use that dedicated IP address.

It doesn't have a Virtual Server setup.

My 4 other domains are setup as Virtual Servers (all is working except permissions)

That's what I mean by "Main Host"

Also... Main Host is using nginx default directory as it's web path.

I thought this was how it was done... is there a simpler way?

Thank you kindly JamieCameron

Ok, the best solution here is to create a virtual server in Virtualmin for the domain maximumlove.us , which you can then setup with the content or SSL certificate of your choice.

JamieCameron,

Great. Thank you. I just created the Virtual Server and Installed the SSL.

That is working now. Thank you again!
