ProFTPd wo IPv6

Hello,

creating a virtual ProFTPd server from the gui works, template is honored, BUT: the virtual ProFTPd server is created with IPv4 ONLY! Despite the fact that the virtual server HAS IPv6 configured (and working in DNS, Apache, ...)

I can see no setting where this can be switched, must be hardcoded.

Instead of creating the virtual server with:

ServerName domain.from.virtualmin [...]

it should be created like this:

ServerName domain.from.virtualmin [...]

IPv4 will go away, It is time for IPv6. Many of our customers have IPv6-only internet connection. There is no argument to tell these customers why they cannot connect to the FTP-server beside "with virtual this cannot be done" and "I have no time to correct this manual".

Please correct this in the code asap. In case the virtual server has IPv6 activated the ProFTPd-virtual-server SHOULD be IPv6 enabled, too.

With best regards, viebrock

Are you creating a per-domain private anonymous FTP server?

Hello,

yes, I use the feature "IP-based virtual FTP enabled?" to enable ftp per domain. I will be able to disable or enable ftp access per domain at any time easily. Works very well for me expect the lack of IPv6 support :)

Thanks in advance, viebrock

Ok, this is a missing feature - I'll update this bug when it is implemented.

Thank you very much :)

This has been implemented, for inclusion in the next Virtualmin release.
