Hi,
the "JOIN OVER 100,000 VIRTUALMIN USERS" / "Try Virtualmin" advertisement is a big annoying as it a) takes up much space and b) it does not make any sense for a customer like me ... ;)
Cheers Vince

Howdy -- as far as I know, that text only appears on the front page.
The front page is primarily aimed at folks who are looking for general information on what Virtualmin is. For most existing users or customers, they would just click one of the menu links at the top in order to access Support, Forums, Documentation, and such -- there isn't much further down the page that they'd need.
Is there anything on the front page that you're needing to access, which is causing you to have to scroll past that text?
If so, that may mean we need to come up with a better way to access that other information.

I cannot find a place where the ad is presented and not needed ... I could swear that it was popping up here and there - but must have been blind. Sorry!

We're just tech guys (not sales people), and we don't like ads either. So if you ever see something like that getting in the way of content, by all means let us know, as we'd like to correct that too!
But I'll mark this as fixed in the meantime.
Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or comments!

i found the one place, where I stumbled over the ad: it is displayed after submitting an issue. :) And the "thank you for your patience" is due to be removed from all pages as well ... ^^

Hmm, I wasn't able to reproduce that... when submitting an issue, I do see the "Thank you for your patience" text, but not the "JOIN OVER 100,000 VIRTUALMIN USERS" section.
I do suspect we'll be taking down the "Thank you for your patience" once we finish up some issues related to renewals that are occurring.

I think the issue the OP is referring to is that after submitting a new issue in the issue tracker you're taken to the virtualmin.com home page instead of something more useful. I don't believe this happens when you're submitting a comment on an existing issue, which is why you might never see it Eric.

Never mind. I just noticed that you opened a test issue, so my input is probably unnecessary. :)

I actually created a brand new request to test all that. However it didn't redirect me to the main page. I'll try some additional testing to see if I can figure out why that occurs for some people and not others.

Your input is always appreciated! It sounds like you're being redirected to the front page. When I submitted one, it took me to the issue itself, which would actually make a lot more sense. So that's my goal, to figure out how to ensure that folks are redirected to the issue they just created.

I will stay tuned ... fortunately it is not a big issue - and I will try my very best to help you to improve everything, as I am a "UX AddicT" :)))
