I just now downloaded install.sh for vm gpl. i made it executable and did ./install.sh and it craps out complaining about a serial number, showing @SERIAL@ - that's what's in the script. Ideas about this?
ps - the script shows only ubuntu up to 12.04LTS being supported. Is it an old version somehow? I've just installed U14.04 LTS with all updates
Howdy,
Hmm, that all sounds fairly unusual... you shouldn't get an error like that, and should also be seeing Ubuntu 14.04 as being supported.
Did you by chance download it using the link available in the "Downloads" section above?

yes I used the links to virtualmin gpl downloads for Linux and FreeBSD
retrying just now I'm getting an auth failure. this is from a different computer on a different network.

Howdy,
I'm unfortunately not able to reproduce the problem you're seeing... and I'm wondering if maybe there's some sort of proxy server that's in front of your server that's causing a problem?
I ran this command here to download the script:
wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh
That worked successfully, and the serial number and license key are both correctly set to "GPL".
