One question about the migration/restore process between different virtualmin servers

One question about the migration/restore process between different virtualmin servers.

My case:

Server A with 2 domains Server B with 3 domains

I would like to migrate the 2 domains in the server A to the server B.

Final scenario: Server B with 5 domains (2+3)

Is it possible doing this with the backup feature of Virtualmin without deleting the 3 domains of server B? What are the correct options to choose in the restore section of the Virtualmin backup to avoid any problems?

Thank you very much.

Howdy,

Just to clarify, is Virtualmin already on both servers?

If so, it's no problem to migrate some domains from one Virtualmin server to another, and that should work well.

You don't need to delete your existing domains.

My suggestion would be to both backup and restore all options of your domains.

Yes, Virtualmin is in the 2 servers.

Server A with Centos 6.7 Server B with Centos 7.1

i need to transfer the 2 domains in Server A to server B with 3 domains (total 5 domains in server B)

My doubt is if Virtualmin configuration files of server A can cause some problems in Server B... or if i have to select only some options to restore in the backup...

Howdy,

You shouldn't run into any problems just because there are existing domains on a Virtualmin server. You should still be able to restore domains from another server.

Of course, if for some reason you do run into a problem, by all means let us know... but that is something that should work.
