CentOS Repos

Eric,

I've seen you say the following:

  • "third party repos (in particular, RPMForge) [have] packages known to conflict with those used for Virtualmin"
  • "we've had really good luck with the packages from the SCL repo before... SCL should be safe to use"
  • Could you comment more about your suggestions on repos, including EPEL, etc??

    Thx!

    Howdy,

The SCL repo is provided by CentOS, and is designed to work well with it. So it's not technically a third party repository.

If EPEL contains packages that you need, it should usually be safe to use those.

Outside of that, we've seen a lot of problems in attempting to use other repositories.
