I've got a CentOS 6.5 production server with virtualmin running php 5.6.0, httpd 2.4.10 and php-fpm.

nice thing about php-fpm is that you can remove suexec and fcgid from the equation. it also replaces suphp.

Is there a guide somewhere for getting php-fpm working with Virtualmin?

read this:

https://wiki.apache.org/httpd/PHP-FPM

if you have timeout issues, include this within your virtualhost directives:

ProxySet timeout=3600

It s very easy to use apache 2.4.10 and php-fpm. You only apply some change in /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf. but it could be great that we can use php-fpm directly from the install.sh script.

Truth is, the only thing that I care about migrating to Centos 7 at the moment and urgently is that it has newer Dovecote. I don't care much about the other side issues... I can live wihtout Amav for a while... I don't care about MariaDB or IPv6. And I can redo the config of apache each time adding a new virtualserver.

All I need badly is Dovecot v2.1.4+

Right now on Centos 6.5 I have dovecot 2.0.9

I need to migrate a bunch of emails from Centos 4 server to Centos 7 that runs dovecot 2.2.10...

so, other than these bugs/missing features anything else serious I should be aware of?

Do I do a normal system upgrade... and then install virtualmin again?

oops... I meant I do not care about EPEL... but I do need MariaDB... (still used to look for mysql)...

From what I've read do a fresh install and migrate the server, this is exactly what I'm in the process of doing.

It looks like webmin looks for the iptables at The Redhat IPtables startup script /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables was not found on your system.

rather than the webmin location:

Rules file /etc/sysconfig/iptables

how can I fix it ?

I have not found a setting where it enable you to change the startup script for iptable but it is worth noting that in CentOS 7 iptable does not come installed as standard.

Have a read of https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7...

The new service firewalld which is meant to replace it has some pretty thorough documentation at https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7...

CSF/LFD & Fail2ban can be used on CentOS 7.

I would prefer to see Virtualmin/Webmin move to support firewalld.

Hi, I guess it should support both. I'm trying to to install virtualmin AFTER I enable iptables-services. maybe it will work at this order....

Hi guys!

First of all I really like your product and I am huge fan of your work. I updated my VPS to CentOS 7 and I made a fresh virtualmin install.

I would like to report the following bugs:

I cannot take swap for CentOS7, but without virtualmin it works well.(solved)

In the Usermin I sat a filter to forward all email after the spam check, it is not working but it delivers to the usermin's inbox (but it does not forward to my email address) BTW if I set the forward in Virtualmin it works but I need the spam filtering before the forward.(solved it was my fault)

I hope it helps for your job.

PS: I am a newbie but why is firewalld disabled? I enabled and I saw that virtualmin is not working in this case but is not it a security problem? Sorry if I asked a stupid question.

Regards,

Nile

centos 7 defaults to firewalld. you need to install manually iptable and disable firewalld in order to webmin firewall to work. for now. google it up.

Hi,

I switched from firewalld to iptables, however, when I now open the Linux Firewall module, I get the following message:

The Redhat IPtables startup script /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables was not found on your system.

I believe that this file is not used to start it, is it possible to change this check so that I can actually use the firewall module?
