ProFTPd doesn't start

I am not able to start the service after rebooting the machine.

problem was a conflict with vsftpd. For some reasons I did try to install it some days ago but since my FTP access was working fine, I never bother to uninstall it. After reboot, ProFTPd didn't work anymore. So I have uninstalled vsftpd and I also reinstalled (via Webmin (YUM)) proftpd.

Now the service starts but it doesn't allow any user to login "530 Login incorrect"

Do you by chance have a third party repository enabled?

What is the output of this particular command:

rpm -qa | grep -i proftp

Hi Andrey!

How do I find out if I had 3rd party repos enabled?

I have the same 503 error no matter what FTP server I install.
