Hello,
Question in short: I have 2 domainnames registered by an external domain registar. I want both domains running on a single VPS, which I have up&running with virtualmin on one ip. How can I do this?
Little background info: I succesfully installed virtualmin. I have set up one domain as virtual server , this works. I see my HTML uploaded to that domain.
However, I now try to set up multiple domains in virtualmin. So I created a sub-server (thats how virtualmin calls it), being my domain. I tried to use own nameservers for this domain, which I have setup in my master domain.
But this does not work. Why does this not work, and any info/tutorials on how to set up multiple domains in virtualmin, and what NS settings to use?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Howdy,
What you're describing should indeed work, and is a core part of shared hosting.
If it's not working, that may just mean we need to do a little troubleshooting.
What happens when you try the setup you described above? Do you get any errors?

I just realized that it is working withou WWW, but the www. version is not working.
How should I fix that?
Thanks btw, for the fast reply!
If you use external nameservers, you need to create every hostname (domain.tld, www.domain.tld etc.) there and have it point to your server.
If you host the zones yourself, you need to create a delegation at your registrar - point the nameserver for your domain.tld to your server - and set things up properly there.
For further debugging, I'd need to know the exact domain names in question, so I can do some digging. Generic "how to do this" questions can be hard to answer remotely, since any number of things can be wrong on your end. It'd be mostly guesswork. So if it gets too complicated, I can offer to take a look at your system myself; I'd have to charge a little fee though if that takes longer than about 30 minutes. :)
