godaddy dns

Hi

We would like to use godaddy or cloudflare for dns services.

So, do we still need to setup bind in virtualmin?

İf not would making changes in godaddy or cloudflare settings (A record ip pointing) will be enough.

Is there anything else that needs to be done on virtualmin side other than setting up a virtual server?

Thanks.

Howdy,

It's no problem to use a third party DNS service like the ones you're describing.

If you do that, it just means you'll need to add all the DNS records you need into that DNS service, Virtualmin won't be able to do it for you.

You wouldn't need (or want) BIND to have any DNS records for the domains you're hosting, so what I'd recommend is to disable Virtualmin's DNS feature.

You can disable DNS for individual domains in Edit Virtual Server -> Enabled Features.

And you can disable DNS for the entire system in System Settings -> Features and Plugins.
