Virtualmin admin Url Not Working

Hi,

I installed Virtualmin on clean CentOS 6 Installation and now I am not able to login to admin are as the https://hostname.com:10000 is not loading.

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to hostname.com:10000

Ho do I find the url to admin?

Thanks

Howdy,

You may want to verify that Webmin is running.

You can do that by logging into your server over SSH as root, and running this from the command line:

/etc/init.d/webmin restart

Hi,

I check it and it is working fine. Here is the output:

[root@flourish etc]# /etc/init.d/webmin restart Stopping Webmin server in /usr/libexec/webmin Starting Webmin server in /usr/libexec/webmin [root@flourish etc]#

When I go to main domain I get following message.

Index of / Name Last modified Size Description

Thanks

You may want to try connecting by IP address, rather than using your hostname... if that doesn't work, is it possible that someone, perhaps your ISP, is blocking port 10000?

Regarding your website -- that's something which can occur if a site hasn't been uploaded yet.

Was your website uploaded to your server already?

Hi,

It is not the issue of website uploading something, but I am not able to access virtualmin admin area where I can create new accounts.

Thanks

I agree with Eric that either the hostname is not pointing to the correct IP, or a firewall is blocking access to port 10000 on your system.

Do a "dig hostname.com", does that resolve to the correct IP? Try accessing "https://1.2.3.4:10000" (replacing 1.2.3.4 with the actual IP).

Hi,

When I do a "dig hostname.com", it does resolve to the correct IP address. I tried replacing hostname with ip address and tried, it didnt load at all.

Thanks

Okay, can you tell us the actual hostname and IP address in question? We can do some testing here then, and hopefully give some advice.

What you could do it do a Traceroute / MTR to the IP address, and see where the path stops.

Hi,

I got I guess de same problem, when I try to login the browser shows: "server denies access"

If you could help me with I could continue to migrate my site from public to a private server

Best regards,

JC

Howdy,

This particular thread is an older one, and appears to be a slightly different problem than what you're experiencing.

So that we can better help you, could you open a new Forum thread, and in there, include lots of details about the problem you're seeing, including any messages in the error logs?

Thanks!

-Eric
