Hello,
I have a strange problem. I can't connect to the FTP which runs under my Virtualmin setup. The strange thing is that I can't connect from a certain connection - my home. I have been able to do this before, run an updated on the Virtualmin server a while ago. Don't now if that can have something to do. Tried and connect from my school network and it worked just fine. I have the right user information (same as works at school)
Server: IP Username: Same as the virtualserver (domain.com, try connect through username domain) Password: The right one, checked hundred times Port: 21 Protocol: FTP Encoding: Unicode (UTF)
When I try to connect my FTP client (Coda) runs for quite a while before it says that it's unable to connect. Can I some how been banned? If that could be an option, where do I check if my IP is baned?
Hoping for answers Greetings Fredrik-s
Found that the problem was that I had opened port 21 on my router. This because I have a FTP server at home which Virtualmin makes schedule backups to every night.
So I have a teori of changing port 21. But how do I change which port Virtualmin should connect to when making schedule backups? There is no alternative when looking under "Backup and Restore > Scheduled Backups".
You can specify an alternate port by using a hostname with the format:
hostname.tld:port
