Hi, today I did the update, that was proposed by virtualmin (on system information page after login). There were errors during that update (some write permission problems with oscache dir or file). After reboot I logged into virtualmin and the virtualmin component is totally missing! There's just webmin! On the system info page is the blue webmin logo and the switch for virtual/webmin that used to be above the left menu is gone. Please help - how can I fix that? System - Debian Lenny 64bit. Aptitude packages are all fully updated, virtualmin is installed, but I can't login and use it to manage all virtual servers!
Thanks John
It sounds like you're either not set to use the Virtualmin theme, or perhaps the theme package is missing altogether.
First, I'd take a look in Webmin -> Change Language and Theme, and make sure the theme is set to "Virtualmin Framed Theme".
If that isn't one of the options, you may need to install it.
You can do that by running this command:
apt-get install webmin-virtual-server-theme
Solved. Thank you very much. The package was installed, but theme wasn't set.
It's strange - I remember trying to change the theme before asking in this forum but nothing has changed. So I tried again now - as you advised - and it worked. The system was rebooted between the tries so thats probably why it worked this time.
I wonder why the update failed. I had to do the initial setup again and all the virtual servers are gone. Even though they exist and work in the system, Virtualmin doesn't see them.
