You would be able to use it's IP for accessing services such as email, ftp, ssh, and the like. You should be able to do that automatically, without any additional configuration.
However, for any outgoing services (such as email sending), it will always use the primary IP address on the server for that outgoing traffic... you can't set it up to use an alternate IP to send the email.
