All E-mail going to spam?

Hi,

I just set up my first email address in Virtualmin. I can send and receive OK, however, it seems that every message sent to the address gets marked as spam. (I've had over twenty messages so far and everyone has gone to the spam folder)

I set up Thunderbird on my laptop and got my account working, however, I cannot receive any messages through it until I move them from the spam folder into the inbox within webmail.

I've had a look at the configuration options, but was a bit overwhelmed to be honest. Is there a quick method of configuring it to a more sensible level?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Duh,

Sorry, I spent ages looking through the Virtualmin config when 5 minutes messing around with Thunderbird would have helped!

I have subscribed to the spam folder so I can now at least receive messages through Thunderbird. Although all of the messages are still going to spam.

Howdy,

Take a peek at the headers of your email -- can you post the X-Spam-Status headers?

There's a SpamAssassin issue that showed up at the turn of this year where a particular rule needs to be updated, as it thinks the year "2010" is too far into the future :-)

You can make sure you're using the latest rules by running "sa-update" from the command line.
