ftp

I can log in using coreftp on the local network using the local computer ip however i cannot log on from a different network using the network ip or domain name any ideas

Well, it'd help to know more about your setup, and the errors that you're seeing.

However, if your server is behind a NAT router, you'd need to make sure all the relevant FTP ports are being forwarded from the router to your server.

It's also possible that your ISP is blocking FTP traffic -- not all ISP's allow servers to run on their networks.
