Cannot connect to mail server

Cannot connect to mail server

when i create a new virtual server and setup an email user i cannot connect to the mail server via Thunderbird. I am wondering if this is due to the fact that I have multiple domains on the same server, each have their own mx record point to the domain.

below is my dns records setup for the domain.

mail 173.203.XXX.XXX A
mydomain.me. 173.203.XXX.XXX A
www 173.203.XXX.XXX A
mydomain.me. mail.mydomain.me. MX

should have to change something somewhere in order to connect to mail.mydomain.me?

a few posts here allowed me to resolve the issue. i'll update when i get a chance to put together the steps I took.
