Whats happened to my sceduled backups ?

Hello,

I don't know if it is a problem with the email or the actual backups.

I have scheduled backups to Amazon to occur every day at 4 am

The destinations for each day a diferent

So I should be getting an email for a back up for everyday but every 5 days I don't get one or two emails.

I don't know if the back up has been done or not.

What is the best way to find out if it was done ? I looked at the log list but none seemed to list back ups

Here are a couple of images that show what I am doing:

The email list: http://www.support-focus.com/images/trash4.jpg

BWT how do I get the destination info onto the email. i.e. if the email said it had backed up to Heavyhoster_tuesday that would help a lot.

Thanks

You can look in the logfiles in /var/log/ to determine whether cron is attempting to run them (and perhaps even restart Cron to make sure there aren't any syntax errors in the cron file -- the errors will show up during a Cron restart).

However, there's no better way to determining if the backup was done than looking at the backup files themselves :-)

Take a peek at the timestamps on your backup files, that should explain if it's working or not.

You may also want to double-check the email address you're using to send all the backups to, it could be incorrect in some of your backup schedules.

OK - the backups are happening OK

I have checked the contents using FireFox.

So I think it is an email problem. Is it possible to put the destination bucket name into the backup email ? - maybe in the title ?

Thanks

Well, that's not possible as of today unfortunately -- you'd probably have to determine where it went based on the day you received the email.

However, you could certainly file a feature request using the Support link above to ask Jamie about adding in some additional information into the email, including the Bucket (or FTP/SSH server/directory) it was backed up to.
