Getting bbCode for my php

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask in but this may be something thats done with VirtualMin or maybe its WebMin ?

I would like to make use of BBcodes for adding basic formatting to my php driven article website and need to know if I have PEAR installed and maybe even this particular extention: url: http://pecl.php.net/package/bbcode

That url gives all the details.

I am not sure how I would go about checking my server for this and how I would load the extention if it is missing.

Looking at this forum - looks like you make use of the bbCode so probably you'd know how I would go about this ? :)
