My Postgre SQL Server Module in Webmin does not show anything when i click on it. It only shows a blank screen without a configure module link or something like that. But i also don't need Postgresql is it save to deinstall it with apt-get -s remove postgresql Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: postgresql virtualmin-base 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Remv virtualmin-base [1.0-11] Remv postgresql [7.5.22] servername:/#
is virtualmin-base [1.0-11] important for anythin else? I use Debian 4.0 2.6.18+6etch2 regards
Yes, virtualmin-base is where (some of) the magic is. It's safe to remove it, but when we roll out any new modules, you'll have to install them manually (virtualmin-base is a sort of meta-package that does configuration, and depends on everything else, so you don't have to install it all independently) rather than just doing an apt-get upgrade.
I've tried coming up with an alternative mechanism for handling this, but nothing really quite fits.
Not sure what to make of the PostgreSQL module not displaying. I'd suspect memory issues.

what do you mean with memory issues? ;)
CPU load averages 0.82 (1 min) 0.43 (5 mins) 0.49 (15 mins)
Running processes 98
Real memory 1.96 GB total, 613.86 MB used
Virtual memory 2 GB total, 229.09 MB used
Local disk space 546,22GB total, 17.02 GB used
hmm is there a possibility to delete postgree without virtualmin-base or can i delete it all and install virtualmin-base only again so everything works again ;)
regards martin
Hey Martin,
You'd want to leave it uninstalled if you remove virtualmin-base--reinstalling it could break things (if you change anything from the Virtualmin defaults).
The only thing you lose is the automatic dependency additions. It's pretty rare that we roll out wholly new packages (rather than updates), and when we do, you can add them with an apt-get install package-name.
I'll see about removing some of those dependencies and dropping them down to the install.sh level.

Still wondering on that PostgreSQL issue. I wanted to activate Postgree but it still does not work. Blank Screen when clicking on the Webmin Module. Furthermore when I activate the Postgre Plugin in Virtualmins Plugin Configuration and the module Support then "Edit Databases" does not work on any domain.
