you can use any billing software you like to bill users as far as I know. I'm experimenting with whoiscart but it has no hAPI for provisioning yet
afaik AWBS is the only one atm that can also do the provisioning of the server. Dan Long is using that and it seems to be working for him.
If you have a favorite billing/provisioning product, don't be shy about asking them to support Virtualmin. ;-)
We'll be more than happy to work with anyone on getting their product working with Virtualmin (and the remote and local APIs are dead simple to use from just about any language).

What info would I need to send to the developer to ask if he would be interested? I'm sure I saw your API links spmewhere but can't seem to find it now.

I'm using AWBS and VM PRO in about 3 or 4 installation. Works quite well.
