resellers and API

I'm trying to run awbs as a reseller from a domain created by the reseller. I run into a " not allowed to run remote commands" error. Are resellers forced to create Virtual servers by hand? Or where do I set the permissions? Or is this a really BAD idea ;-)

At the moment, the remote API and command-line API are only available to the master administrator, not resellers. This is because the remote API has no restrictions on what it can do, so anyone with access to it can manage any virtual server.

However, the idea is not unreasonable - I will look into adding support for this in future, by adding proper access control restrictions to the remote API.

Seems it's been a while since this thread was touched.

Access control restrictions on the remote API would be insanely useful!

Not just for resellers though. It would be great to have it per virtual host. Obviously not everything would be accessible, but I would like to do simple things like create/modify/delete users and aliases. This doesn't require root access (obviously, since the virtual server owner can do it from within vm), and I don't like the idea of storing the root password on a server so that a program can perform such simple tasks.

Anyway, just wanted to give this thread a bump, and add a pretty please to the request for non-root access to the API.

Thanks.
Johannes.
