How about automatically poking a hole in the Lunix Firewall for port 10000 when installing virtualmin, so it'll work on other LAN and WAN machines?
I had to go figure out how to do that on my own, which was a learning experience... Fortunately, I had {virtual, web}min to help me figure out where/how to do that, but it would have been nice to have it happen automagically.
RHEL4, if that matters...
Hey William,
It's on the agenda. And, I can add it for Red Hat based systems in about five minutes--the problem is with SUSE, which uses a clunky build-it-with-a-script configuration (which isn't supported by Webmin's Firewall module) rather than the standard iptables-save file that I think every other distribution uses (which is supported). That said, there's no reason I can't add it for Red Hat based systems, and work on SUSE when I get some time to figure out their configuration files.
Expect it in the next release of virtualmin-base (though it will only run for fresh installs...systems that are already installed will still need to add rules manually).
