SSL website failed

On one of our Virtualmin servers an attempt to enable SSL for a virtual server is giving:

Save Server
In domain website.com
Changing IP address of virtual website ..
.. done
Creating SSL certificate and private key ..
.. SSL website failed! : Failed to open /home/website/domains/subdomain.website.com/ssl.cert.webmintmp.25734 : No such file or directory at /usr/libexec/webmin/web-lib-funcs.pl line 1397, line 1.

Saving server details ..
.. done

Applying web server configuration ..
.. done

Howdy -- hmm, does the "/home/website/domains/subdomain.website.com/" directory exist on your server?

If not, what directory is that particular domain using for it's home directory?

It does not currently. It existed before, but we moved it to a completely another machine. Somehow its SSL certificate is left on the current server and interfering. And the home directory for the domain name which we are trying to enable SSL certificate for resides in /home/website.

Okay, that gives me a better picture of what's going on here.

So just to clarify -- you mentioned that the homedir in question (/home/website/domains/subdomain.website.com/) was removed.

Is the "subdomain.website.com" domain also deleted from Virtualmin on this server?

Yes, the subdomain had been deleted and the homedir for it also was removed.
