Howdy -- we unfortunately don't have any experience in installing "sogo".

Someone recently asked about whether it could be made into an Install Script.

Not all the dependencies are available in the standard distribution repositories, and it sounds like it's designed to be run on a server by itself, rather than as a particular user within a shared hosting environment.

Due to that, it may be difficult to get working with a shared hosting environment running Virtualmin.

But I see we have a sogo webmin module on virtualmin, do you mean sogo get's installed on another physical machine and get's conected with thewebmin sogo module conector?

Yes, it does indeed look like there is a third party SOGO Webmin module. That's not something we built though. I unfortunately don't have any experience with it, though it would likely aid in configuring SOGO once the application is installed.

You may need to work with the SOGO community if you had questions regarding how to install and configure that.

The SOGo Webmin module is 4 years old and it's outdated. It's not compatible with the new version of the SOGo conf file. It needs an update...

Agreed! That's a third party module though, so you'd need to work with the author of that module in order to get that updated.

Sorry, that module is unfortunately not something we're familiar with.

Agreed. The "old" version of SOGo (available in Debian 7 Wheezy repo) used GNUstep "defaults" binary to save the app settings. The current ("new") version (available in Debian 8 Jessie repo) saves the app settings in the standard linux text file in /etc/sogo/sogo.conf

Debian 8 Jessie RC1 is was released 7 weeks ago. The final release date will probably be about 8-10 weeks from now. Maybe by then, the SOGo team would update the SOGo Webmin module. Having a system layer service that provides the Outlook/Exchange compatibility would be very nice for many organizations. That new SOGo module would probably win over so many users from other control panels to Virtualmin....
