Cheers!
As discussed in the following forum topic, I'd like to make this an official feature request, since I think it'd be an important and worthwhile addition. :)

Hmm, well, there's one option now that may be close to what you're looking for...
If you go into System Settings -> Server Config -> TEMPLATE_NAME, one of the options on that screen is that you can set "For use by", where you can uncheck "Server Owners".
The idea there is that you could uncheck all options that you wouldn't want a Virtual Server owner selecting... but as the Master Admin, you could still choose from any of them.
Would that do the trick?

Thanks for the idea Eric, but unfortunately, that probably wouldn't work.
There are customers who SHOULD be able to select their template, and then those (here: those using the Slave Nameserver service) who should always get the same template, and who shouldn't even be bothered with having to choose one. :)
Your idea would prevent ALL non master-admins from selecting the templates I uncheck "server owners" for.

Jamie is reviewing your feature request.

Great, thanks!
I can imagine that - if you get the time to do it - it's not a simple thing to implement. So no hurries, it's not urgent.

This has been implemented, and will be included in Virtualmin 3.96.

You rock, as usual! :D
I'm gonna test it when the new version comes out, and report back should there be any problems.

[strike]Hi,
I realize this is an old request but I have a question regarding it and thus it didn't make sense, to me at least, to start a new thread.
Was this feature request made possible by adding the "Available to server owners" section in the server template? If not, what is the option that was added?
Also, is it possible to lock a user into a server template, like if the account was created via WHMCS for example, and the template was selected but I didn't want to have to remove the user from the available list of other templates. I am looking for a way to say "all templates are available, but once an account is created, the user cannot change to a different one." If this isn't possible with this, I will open a separate feature request and I apologize for reviving an old request.
-Dustin
BIG EDIT
Ignore me! I was logged in as an admin still, it appears you cannot change the template as a server owner. I'm visually impaired so my bad.
:)
