I am getting these messages spamming my server logs. Can you advise how to fix this issue relating to deprecated settings in dovecot. Seems to be affecting all of my virtual servers.

I had to manually edit roundcube config and change the mail host and smtp host settings to 'tls://localhost' instead of 'localhost' to get it to send any email.

Howdy -- was your server perhaps upgraded from a previous Ubuntu version?

Or is this installation a fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04?

This server was installed as a 12.04 server and has been running for well over over a year on 12.04.

Is there a fix for this issue?

Does this actually prevent connections to your IMAP server though, or is it just a warning message in the logs?

Yes, IMAP connections get through, but the logs are spammed with these messages whenever users connect and send/receive mail.

Is there some way to fix the configuration that you guys have tested. We are about to start looking at upgrading these boxes to Ubuntu 14.04.x and don't want to carry forward any issues that may break virtualmin on the new OS given that it is likely to have much later versions of core software running.

Ok, it looks like the Virtualmin installer needs to be updated to handle the new Dovecot directives.

Which Dovecot version do you have installed there?

Hi,

I am looking at the same situation you describe here.

I had Virtualmin running on Ubuntu 12.04, and just updated to 14.04. The whole server is working fine, except for e-mail connectivity.

When I try to login through Roundcube I get an IMAP connection error.

I tried restarting Dovecot but I get the same error.

When I run "dovecot -n" I get the following errors:

oveconf: Warning: NOTE: You can get a new clean config file with: doveconf -n > dovecot-new.conf doveconf: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:103: protocol { ssl_listen } has been replaced by service { inet_listener { address } }

What is your recommendation to get e-mail back up running??

For both IPv4 and IPV6. SSL and none-SSL. Would this be resolved?
