Cloudmin seems to assign ports like 5901, 5902, ... etc to different guest systems. Is there a way to know which port is assigned to a guest system through CLI, not UI? Unfortunately, the "cloudmin list-systems --host host.domain.tld --multiline" command doesn't list such a port. If there is not such a way, request to add this information to --multiline command's output. Thanks.

By the way, the --multiline outputs
Graphical console password
, but it is useless unless the respective port is given, so I guess my request to add this information to the API output is quite legitimate.Submitted by JamieCameron on Fri, 09/26/2014 - 11:58 Comment #2
Sure, I will add the port to the API output in the next release (7.9).

Hi Jamie,
I know from another thread the release of 7.9 had been delayed because of Shellshock. Can you please give us new ETA to make plans accordingly?

We've added VNC port to our ticketing and billing system backend, however it turned out to be pretty much useless, because despite giving the port the Cloudmin system is not actually opening it. I know it opens only when logging into Cloudmin as discussed on https://virtualmin.com/node/34377, but I really hope we will be able to provide our customers some way for them to connect to VNC client any time directly from their profiles in our back-end. So just as reminder to myself quoting yourself from the other ticket:
How about if there was a Cloudmin API function that would open up the forwarding port and the flash policy server on port 843? You could then call that from your portal before serving a flash VNC client page.
Please let me know when this will be implemented, so that we could make use of this VNC port information in practice.

This API command (called
vnc-system
) has been implemented for inclusion in the next Cloudmin release.Submitted by Issues on Sat, 01/17/2015 - 18:40 Comment #10
