I've noticed when I create a new virtual server I get this message:
dependencies problem detected : phpMyAdmin requires MySQL version 5.5 or later
Do I really need to upgrade? I've never seen this message until recently...

Howdy -- unfortunately, the newest version of phpMyAdmin requires a MySQL version that's not available on CentOS 6 (MySQL 5.5).
The best way around that would be to install one of the older phpMyAdmin versions listed in the Install Scripts section, rather than using the newest.

Alright, thanks. Actually, looking at the error again, maybe it's trying to upgrade phpmyadmin, but unsuccessfully doing so? (meaning, I don't need to take any action?)

Is phpMyAdmin working properly for you on that domain?
It appears to be trying to install 4.2.8, which does indeed require MySQL 5.5. But if phpMyAdmin is currently installed and working at a previous version, then there isn't anything you need to do.

Darn, you're right. phpmyadmin isn't working for that domain. I was able to downgrade to the older version though and it works fine.
Is there a way to set defaults so that new virtual servers don't try to use phpmyadmin 4.2.8 every time? thanks again!

Hmm, so is it set to automatically install phpMyAdmin for each new domain? If so, how did you configure that?

I never configured that. It's an error message I see everytime I create a new virtual server as of last week. All the other virtual servers I have running never mentioned a phpmyadmin upgrade...

It sounds like your server is configured to automatically install phpMyAdmin... you shouldn't otherwise see any mention of that when a domain is being setup.
If you go into System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Default Script Installers, do you see any Install Scripts listed there, such as phpMyAdmin?

Dang, you're right, phpmyadmin was set to try to upgrade everytime a new virtual server was created. I don't know how that ever got setup. You rock. thanks!!!
