Is it ok to add remote Virtualmin VPSs to Cloudmin for physical servers?

We have been succesfully using a Cloudmin for Physical Servers (License #R99nhmxKzn) to manage physical Virtualmin servers. But sometimes we have customers who wants us to manage their Virtuamin VPS on remote servers. What kind of possible issues might raise if we add them to the Cloudmin for Physical Servers? How else we could manage remote Virtualmin VPS systems?

Thanks!

Howdy -- yes, that's no problem at all.

All that means is that Cloudmin will treat it as a dedicated server. It won't be able to use VPS management functions, like cloning, re-imaging, pausing, and such.

It won't cause any problems at all, it just means that, since Cloudmin isn't managing the underlying VPS, less features are available than if it were.

That answers my question in full. Thanks!

Actually, there is a serious issue with adding VPS instances to Cloudmin for Physical servers: I've added couple remote VPS accounts as Physical systems for testing purposes, turned them off, now can't do anything with their entries in Cloudmin - attempting to remove them gives:

Failed to delete servers : The following non-virtual systems cannot be deleted : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I never tried to delete actual physical servers, but what some of them will become unavailable to the system? Will this issue repeat for them too? And how can I get rid of the entries for the remote servers which become unavailable to the Cloudmin?

Try the "De-Register" button instead of "Delete".

cool. used for the first time. thanks!

Also, I will remove that button in the next release.

Right, it should be moved as Cloudmin for Physical Servers do not create or delete anything per se, it registers and de-registers.
